About the Journal

History

The University of Azuay has distinguished itself by educating individuals with critical thinking skills and a strong ethical commitment to society. Support for research has become a fundamental pillar in the academic development of the university community, especially within the School of International Studies. Based on these values, the student initiative Prisma: Journal of International Studies was born. As its name suggests, this journal seeks to showcase the world's plurality through diverse perspectives, theories, and approaches.

Mission

To promote the academic development of students in the School of International Studies through the writing of critical and analytical articles, enabling them to connect the knowledge acquired in academia with the complexities of global dynamics. This fosters a responsible and conscious understanding of the world.

Vision

To become an indexed journal that establishes itself as a national and international benchmark for the quality of its content and reflections, contributing to the community of professors, researchers, university students, and all those interested in understanding the multifaceted reality of international studies.

Affiliation

Prisma: Journal of International Studies is an academic journal affiliated with the Faculty of Legal Sciences of the University of Azuay. The following statutes govern the organization, administration, and activities of the journal, as well as the scope of action of its members.

Blind Peer Review Process

Upon receiving an article, the Editorial Committee randomly assigns an Associate Editor-Reviewer to inspect it in order to assess its compliance with the journal's minimum quality standards. During this process, the author and the Associate Editor-Reviewer remain anonymous to each other. Once the minimum standards are verified, the article is accepted and undergoes a review process by the Associate Editor-Reviewer for style and formatting and by the Academic Committee for substantive review.
